What Type of League is Right for Your Family
The typical introductory youth soccer league season lasts somewhere between 8 to 10 weeks (i.e. YMCA soccer), depending on if there is any sort of post-season play. While this can be a great way to get acquainted with the sport and meet other local children, some players who take to the sport quickly and enthusiastically may desire more extensive exposure, as opposed to waiting 42 some odd weeks for fall to roll around on the calendar.Though spring soccer offerings are less common, in most metro areas some sort of spring season, even if shortened, is still available. The talent pool in spring leagues may be slightly more advanced, as many participants excelled in fall leagues and want to continue their development. (more…)
